Covered with a black cloak, the leader of the human race slipped through the streets of Astralyre. She pulled the hood down over her head, moving quickly in the direction of the Shaman's home, which was a well-built, two-story home that she had directly commissioned. She knocked quickly before entering, slipping the hood off of her head. ❝Siru Ren Okagema, right?❞ She questioned, slipping the cloak off.
❝...Do you have anything that can cure bad dreams?❞

Slipping from the shadows of the shop, his long grey hair hanging over his face, he looks to the girl, leader of the human race. "Bad dreams..." He repeats and motions for her to follow as he walks into the dark back of the shop, potions and herbs lining the shelves. "What is the content of these dreams? Is there any truth to them?" His grey eyes glancing at her, he asks, his voice low and questioning.

❝...Nightmares. I can't get any peaceful sleep...❞ She seemed troubled, which wasn't a state that she was often seen in. ❝...Yes, they're about real things that have happened to me. Dreams of my father being slain.❞ Kamil straightened her shirt, swallowing hard.

He nodded his eyes sad for her. Siru dug through the herbs, grabbing some root of the strong tree and some wolfs bane, he wondered to get his pestal and mortar. "I see. This simple blend I am crafting should give you a more peaceful sleep." Crushing the ingredients together he sighs and goes back to the shelve, looking for something. "I seem to be out of quill toad..." Holding an empty bottle he sighed and grabbed another substitute. "It would be nice not to have to get these things myself." Siru mumbled as he crushed the things in the bottle in with the others.

Dark golden eyes scanned Siru as he worked, sighing. ❝You could always hire an apprentice. Or, I could pay to get some merchants to help bring in herbs for you.❞ She dug a few golds out of her purse, which would be more than enough for payment for the medicine. ❝I'll go ahead and sit these golds here.❞ She sat them on his desk. ❝If you need more than that, let me know.❞ She'd given him enough to buy some extra herbs from the vendors later on, when he was in need.

Without glancing at her, Siru shook his head and pointed to the coin. "Take it back. I don't take that sort of payment." Siru took the powder and walked over to the stove, grabbing the kettle and a tea cup, he walked back over, putting the powder at the bottom of the cup, he added water and swirled the cup. "I take payment in the way of word. I don't need coin. I need news. What word of the monsters?" He asked as he held the cup out to her.

She sighed, shaking her head. ❝I gave you extra to look into buying some herbs to work with. Keep it, I have plenty.❞ She looked over at him, taking the cup. ❝Well, I don't have much news... There have been some spotted lurking around the walls.❞ She sipped down the liquid. ❝We've gotten some new monster hunters, they're searching within the walls. But nothing is happening yet...❞ The queen paused. ❝I just want to find the demon that killed my father. That damn bitch...❞

Siru stared at the coin on the table but protested no more. As he listened to the queen speak, he felt the fermiliar pang of longing hearing of the hunters. "Ahh... I thought of becoming a hunter once... Though I have my priorities here." Siru set about putting the herbs away, still listening. "Have you thought of sending a spy or group of spy's to monster territory... Perhaps they would pick up on some of the chatter." Siru ran a finger over the scar along his cheek, anger flashing in his silvery eyes.

❝...I understand. As a queen, I'm not supposed to put my life in danger, so I could never become a hunter... but if I have to make my people fight, I will lead them into battle.❞ She sips at the medicine, already feeling herself beginning to calm down, ever so slightly from the warm drink. She shook her head slowly, frowning. ❝...I can't just send people out to risk their lives like that. Not unless they're completely willing to die... for all of us. We haven't had any incidents, so I don't have any needs to increase the guard or send some monster hunters searching around along the walls for possible entrances...❞

Sighing, Siru ran a hand through his hair and looked down, an odd half smirk coming to his face. "Speaking freely... Do you not worry that at some point they will attack?" Siru, sighing shook his head in apology for his question. "My apologies... Please do not answer that." Siru'a grey eyes stayed to the ground as he ran his fingers through his hair nervously.

Kamil huffed a little, biting her lip. The question he asked visibly angered her, and she clenched her fists, resisting the urge to shout. She calmed down as he apologized, and she let her shoulders slump. ❝Speaking honestly... I'm terrified that they will attack.❞ She stopped there, finishing the medicine he had given her. She slowly rose, moving over to Siru's side. ❝...Do you have fears like any of mine, Siru?❞ She hesitated. ❝Do my fears make me a petty Queen? Do I need to overcome them to take better care of my people...?❞ She ran her fingers through her hair, looking very much anxious. ❝...Please, tell me what you think I need to do. You're a brilliant individual.❞

Siru looked to the queen, no measure of the surprise he felt for being consulted by her showing on his face, he was a master of remaining objective. "I have no fears..." Furrowing his brow, Siru held a hand up as if to stop himself. "Let me clarify. I have no fears because I am not sure I know what fear really is... Yes I know the vague concept and what people find triggers fear for them, what they see in their nightmares. I myself have never felt what others say as to that." Siru now looking the queen in the eyes, let a bit of his mask of coyness fall. "It does not make you a bad ruler because you fear. It makes you empathetic, and the ability to empathize with those you rule over, helps you to keep your kingdom stark with absolute reverence for you. You are not a good leader because the people hold you on a pedestal of immortality... You are a good ruler because you know what it's like to be utterly and absolutely terrified." Taking a breath, Siru smiled slightly to himself. "A ruler who has never seen tragedy can not hold strong in a time when it fast approaches... One who has seen it, can place the terror aside and use it, use it as a form of shield against any enemy that could hope to harm them." No Siru's eyes glinted with brief amusement. "No. Fear does not make you weak."
